Welcome parents, guardians and students, and thank you for dropping by the Astumbo Elementary school's first grade team website. I hope you find this website useful and beneficial in ensure the learning continues despite our current health crisis on the island.


Learning can be stress-free if you plan ahead. Below you’ll find the 1st grade teams' assignments schedule, including, fun STEM activities. In addition, you will find special announcements of the next upcoming week to come. There were will new lessons every week so keep your eyes out for those!

Below is a weeks STEM activities to enjoy at home!!

​

Raising Hands

     Activity

Play some basketball (or trash can ball)! Measure how many baskets you can make out of 10. Do it again. How many more/less did you get than the first trial.

In the Classroom

     Design

Design and build a table using only newspaper or paper and tape. How much weight can it hold? How can you make it stronger?

      Create

Create a skit or poster on the importance of hand washing and how to do it properly.

Kids in Art Class

      Decide

Which is the best invisible ink? Writ 3 messages using milk, lemon juice and vinegar. Allow to dry. Heat up the paper with a  blow dryer to see message appear.
